Do you know how RED Colors everything red?

RED: wavelength range of approximately 630–700 nm
Is the wavelengths longer than this, then its called infrared

Red is an additive primary color, complementary to cyan.

red is associated with: the heat of sun, fire, blood, rage, heat,
ripe fruit, guilt, sin, satan, dominance, courage, sacrifice,
indicating danger, emergency, heart, love,
China, communist, Red Cross, socialists, revolutionair,

Red carries the strongest reaction of all the colors
Because of this, red is often used to catch people's attention
Emergency exits on passenger aircraft are indicated by red signs and lighting.

The port, or left, side of a sea-going vessel carries a red navigation light,
to warn other vessels approaching from that side to change course to avoid a collision.

Also stop signs, traffic signals, brake lights
In auto racing, a red flag signals all cars to immediately stop.
In Association football, the referee shows a red card to a player who is being sent-off.

Red is one of the most common colors used on national flags. The use of red has similar connotations from country to country: the blood, sacrifice, and courage of those who defended their country; the sun and the hope and warmth it brings

If the skin of animals is more or less red or have red spots or stripes this means keep distance, we are dangerous, we even might be toxic

Some idioms, expressions with red:
Red Indians is a British term for Native Americans.
redhot, a red rag= becoming angry,
a redletter day, started out in the 15th century, feast & saints days marked red on calenders

Red ink is also used to denote debt, "in the red" usually indicates economic losses
In North American stock markets, red is used to denote a drop in stock prices.

Red is the color of heat and fire.
Taps for hot water are often labeled red.
Red is commonly the color of fire alarm boxes,
fire extinguishers, and the firefighter profession itself.

Being the color of blood, red was associated with the Roman mythology god of war, Mars,
and the reddish planet Mars became named after him.

In Chinese symbolism, red is the color of good luck and is used for decoration and wedding attire.
Money in Chinese societies is traditionally given in red packets.

In East Asian stock markets, red is used to denote a rise in stock prices.

Red is the color used for critical or important systems (such as emergency lighting) that operate in low-light or night-time conditions, as rod cells in the human eye do not respond to it and therefore does not interfere in the eye's ability to focus in dim environments.

Do you know why BLUE colors everything blue?

BLUE= CYAN
wavelength 440-490 nm
~680-610 Thz

How do we see color?
A new born baby develops the seeing of color in this order
1st: it develops contrast
2nd: movement
3rd: making of silhouette
4th: recognising colors

In brief, we see color by the fact that;
our eyes and brain are working together, translating light into color
Light receptors in the eye transmit their information to the brain,
which produce the sensation of seeing color
The physicist Newton did find out that color is not in objects.
The object reflects some colors and absorps all the others
For example the green of a Granny Smith apple is not in the skin of the apple,
the surface of the apple reflects the wavelenghts we see as green and absorbs all the rest.

An objects appears to be white when it reflects all wavelengths
it appears black when all wavelengths are absorbed
Therefore a white car in the desert can radiates warmth up to 52 º C
but in contrast a black car can radiates warmth as much as 80º C

In general there are not many birds with blue pigment in their feathers,
anytime you see a bird, partly or in whole with blue colored feathers,
you can suspect it is based on structural color.
What is structural color?
In this case, the layered structure of a birds feather
makes the light waves bounce back and forth several times
thus making a collide, the light waves interfere with each other.
Certain light waves disappear other becomes reinforced.
The reinforced colors which come strongly to your eye
mostly are in the blue range.
Physicists call this a structural color.

Some associations with blue:
ice, water, sky, sadness, boys, calm
winter, royal, marine, magic, truth
space, conservatism, liberty, capitalism, peace,
confidence, tranquility, cleanliness, unity, order

Some language associations:
In English language 'blue' may refer to:
the feeling of sadness, 'he was feeling blue'
This is because blue was related to rain or storm.
'Out of the blue' suddenly something or someone appeared, as if it was falling out of the sky.
'A blue collar worker' is someone who does physical work, related to the working cloth
Once 'in a blue moon' which means seldom, very rare.
'true-blue' is someone who support something or someone completely

Blue is often considered to be the savest color.
Blue can lower body temperature, can slow down the pulse rate.
Blue is considered a business color caused by the association with reliability

Blue is one of three primaire colors
mixing blue with
a second primaire color, yellow, gives green
mixing blue with
a third primaire color, red, gives purple
The compliment color of blue in the colorcirkel is orange

Blue in China is associated with immortality.
Blue in Colombia is associated with soap.
Blue in the Middle East is a protective color.
Blue for Hindus is the color of Krishna.
Blue for the Jews symbolizes holiness.

The modern English word blue comes from Middle English, bleu or blewe.

All the textures made by Perfecttex are pieces of art, that is why they are called artistic textures, you will not find them elsewhere. The start off all textures has been a white screen, building the texture up till the final result . Unlike most offered textures on the internet which are based on photographs. Perfecttex offers many specialties, most important are; the touch and feel in the design like substance expression as in painted still lives, depth in the designs, the use of delicated light which really makes the ambiance and is the finishing touch in the design. When you use them to paint you will have, depth, structure and colour in one stroke. When using blending techniques you will even have many more stylish possibilities.
